SUNGAI PETANI: Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) has rejected 40 percent of the latest amendments to the Competency Level Assessment (PTK).
Cuepacs president Omar Osman said the congress had also decided to set up a special action committee to study the amendments in greater details.
"We are not rejecting the whole of the amendments but there are many we disagree with.
"One of those is if a candidate fails the PTK exams, they cannot resit. Previously, this law did not exist," he told reporters after the congress' special council meeting on Saturday.
He said the special committee would review the 27-page PTK amendments covering 34 topics and give its views to the Public Service Department in two weeks.
"The amendments will be reviewed thoroughly because the circular was issued without feedbacks and Cuepacs had not been not briefed on it beforehand," he said. - Bernama
