PUTRAJAYA, Jan 13 (Bernama) -- The Public Service Department (PSD) is gathering feedback from stakeholders to facilitate a review of another 100 civil service schemes involving over 800,000 civil servants.
Its director-general, Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal said the review which entailed salary adjustment, entry requirements and welfare would also benefit those in the enforcement and clerical groups.
"The review is still at the negotiation stage. We are having engagement with stakeholders such as Cuepacs (Congress of Unions of Employees in the Civil Service) and other unions.
"I hope civil servants will be patient so that the review can be implemented to the level best," he told reporters receiving Cuepacs supreme council members led by its president, Azih Muda here today.
The improvements were in line with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's 2014 Budget announcement of 81 improved service schemes to retain the best talent in the public sector, and boosting the career path of public officials.
Meanwhile, Azih urged civil servants, who were not under the 81 improved service schemes not to panic and become emotional.
"This is being done by PSD. Please be patient. Engagement with the government is the best way to resolve the problem," he said.
On the courtesy call, he said it was aimed at enhancing ties and strategic collaboration with the PSD in efforts to take the public service to greater heights in fulfilling the national transformation.
He said Cuepacs would also go down to the ground to help explain issues confronting the government, especially on price hike, apart playing its part in enhancing the delivery system.
