PUTRAJAYA, Jan 28 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has given the assurance that the one annual salary increment for the 1.6 million civil servants on July 1 this year will be implemented as promised in Budget 2016.
In addition, he said, the government would not dismiss any civil servant, including those appointed on contract.
Najib, who is also Finance Minister, said the government would continue to exercise fiscal consolidation measures by giving priority to high-impact programmes centred on the 'people economy' philosophy.
"This will not involve the emoluments of civil servants, pensions of retirees, as well as not affect the government's delivery mechanism," he said when announcing the recalibration of Budget 2016 here today.
