PM lancar program PPA1M

Yang hadir sama, Ketua Setiausaha Negara, Datuk Seri Dr. Ali Hamsa; Presiden Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPj), Tan Sri Aseh Che Mat; Ketua Pengarah Perkhidmatan Awam, Datuk Mohamad Zabidi Zainal; Presiden Kongres Kesatuan Pekerja-pekerja Di Dalam Perkhidmatan Awam (CUEPACS), Datuk Omar Osman dan calon BN Parlimen Putrajaya, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

GE13: Those who need to travel should also get the following day off, says Cuepacs

KUALA LUMPUR: Civil servants who are rostered to work on polling day on May 5, or have to travel a distance to vote, should be given the day off, said Cuepacs president Datuk Omar Osman.
He said those who needed to travel should also get the following day off.
“This is because it will be difficult for them to return the same evening, especially if they are working the night shift.
“We are concerned that they might not travel far to vote if there is no day off,” he said after chairing Cuepacs' special congress meeting here yesterday.
Omar also urged civil servants to not be involved in “trouble-making”, especially on polling day, adding that disciplinary action could be taken against them.
“It is up to civil servants who they want to vote for but we have advised them not to be involved in provocation or (partake in) political agendas,” he added.
He stressed that Cuepacs members would not be candidates, adding that the umbrella body for civil servants fully supported the ruling Government as many of its requests had been fulfilled.
Omar also announced that the Labour Day celebrations would be held on May 1 at Nilai Indoor Stadium in Negri Sembilan.
“This year's Labour Day celebrations will be extra special as it will be held close to the general election.
“We will also update civil servants on the latest regarding the SST (Transformative Remuneration System) and on the early annual increments announced in March,'' he said, adding that he would meet the Prime Minister and Chief Secretary to the Government to get an update from them.
Civil servants would see various initiatives being implemented under the SST, including the restructuring of pay packages for civil servants with static salaries, fast-track promotions and a review of 81 service schemes.
They are also expected to receive increments of between RM80 and RM320 in July, a move which would cost the Government some RM1.5bil.
Of the 81 schemes, Omar asked for several to be implemented first, including revised salaries for the police, army, customs, immigration and prisons personnel.

Civil servants to enjoy 1Malaysia Civil Servants Housing soon

Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa.Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa.
JOHOR BARU: Civil servants will soon get to enjoy the 1Malaysia Civil Servants Housing (PPA1M), based on the affordable housing scheme built on government land, priced at 20-30 percent lower than the market rate.
Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa said a pilot project with 10,000 units of houses would be built in Putrajaya, and launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak soon.
"We will look for suitable government-owned land in other towns, including Johor Baru, for the purpose," he said. He was speaking at a Session with Civil Servants in Johor at Pusat Islam here on Tuesday.
The move to launch PPA1M was aimed at helping to overcome the burden of civil servants to buy houses in major towns, which have gone beyond their affordability.
"The price of affordable houses offered will be in the range of RM150,000 to RM300,000, with built-up area of between 1,000 to 1,500 sq ft, as well as other basic facilities," said Ali.
He hoped it would lighten the burden of the civil servants who had provided the best service, and be an incentive for them to work even harder.
On the fate of contract workers in the National Unity and Integration Department, under the rural and regional development and information communication and culture ministries, totalling nearly 50,000 people, he said the Government had agreed to extend their contracts to Dec 31, for another year.
In the meantime, a comprehensive study would be carried out on their position by a committee before being tabled to the Government.
